- Located in the Provence Gardoise, at the gateway to the Cévennes, the country of Uzès is a land rich in history and magnificent landscapes. 1st duchy of France, Uzès is the capital of this authentic province and labeled city of art and history. The Village of St-Siffret, 4 km from Uzès, and 10 km from the Pont du Gard, is one of the most beautiful villages in the region. Born in the 12th century, it conceals a very rich architectural heritage which makes it a place to discover, a must in the region. With its steep alleys, its houses built on the rock, its high walls housing a castle and magnificent residences and its sublime views over the plain it dominates, it naturally appeals to visitors sensitive to art and culture. From the house, the scrubland which surrounds the village can be reached on foot and offers many walks in the countryside. Close to several TGV stations, but away from heavily traveled axes, it is both accessible and protected. For those curious who would escape this sweet paradise, the ideal geographical location of the village allows travelers to enjoy all the charms of the region without straying too far from it, such as: Wine tastings, traditional markets, votive festivals, unmissable tourist sites, the city of Uzes (4KM), the Pont du Gard (10KM), the Gardon gorges (8KM), Anduze and the outskirts of the Cévennes (48KM). The more adventurous can visit the art cities of Avignon (28 KM), Nîmes (22KM) or Arles (75 KM) or spend a day at the beach (85 KM). La Cour St Siffret is indicated on googlemap.

SUGGESTIONS FOR REVIEWERS
Describe the key elements of the accommodations : decor, hospitality, value, housekeeping, setting, and/or meals. What were the highlights of your stay? A comfortable bed and elegant decor? The convenient location? The delicious breakfasts and afternoon snacks? The hospitality of the innkeepers? Extra amenities and/or advice for business or vacation travel? If in the area again, would you return? Recommend to friends?
Be both honest and fair : We feature various types of accommodation - some more luxurious than others ... Criteria of charm vary from person to person
We offer a wide selection of quality guesthouses for all tastes and budgets
It is not fair to compare a guesthouse that charges €75 a night with a nearby property that charges double or triple that rate.
Things can go wrong in the best of guesthouses, and the difference between an average place and a great one is how the innkeepers address the problem when something unexpected occurs.
Avoid hyperbole : Reviews that include only effusive praise or complete condemnation are rarely helpful or even credible.
Innkeeper responses : There are at least two sides to every story (often three!). The reviews posted on the Charming Guest Rooms website are taken seriously by innkeepers.
We reserve the right for innkeepers to respond to any review.
