Château d'Ortaffa

Overview
The charm of a big, beautiful Family House
Restored and decorated over time by a French couple with a passion for antiques, ancient patinas and furnishings, this former wine-making château, built long ago over ramparts overlooking the village of Ortaffa, has become an exceptional place, open year around.
Moments to remember.....
Enjoy leisurely breakfasts on the terrace, with a broad view of the Albères mountain range while tasting home-made preserves, especially prepared by Michelle.
Experience the "vie de château"!
Here you will feel comfortable a soon as you arrive...
We welcome you in our home as a friend or a family member, and you will soon find the house as familiar to you as if you had visited it many times.
In the Library, the furnishings, attractive pictures, the wealth of interesting objects, the restful pastel walls, the old patinas—as everywhere in the house, create an impression of calm, serenity, and comfort, which will greatly contribute to an enjoyable and relaxing stay.
Within easy reach of Collioure and Spain, between sea and mountains
Located at the heart of the Easter Pyrénées, the village of Ortaffa enjoys an exceptional site, both away from the major highways and close to the Mediterranean beaches (under 15 minutes), to the mountains, the delightful port of Cllioure, and the towns of Céret, Perpignan, Banyuls (famous for its wine), Elne, and the Romanesque cloisters of the Roussillon, and two steps away from the Spanish border.

Guest Reviews

SUGGESTIONS FOR REVIEWERS
Describe the key elements of the accommodations : decor, hospitality, value, housekeeping, setting, and/or meals. What were the highlights of your stay? A comfortable bed and elegant decor? The convenient location? The delicious breakfasts and afternoon snacks? The hospitality of the innkeepers? Extra amenities and/or advice for business or vacation travel? If in the area again, would you return? Recommend to friends?
Be both honest and fair : We feature various types of accommodation - some more luxurious than others ... Criteria of charm vary from person to person
We offer a wide selection of quality guesthouses for all tastes and budgets
It is not fair to compare a guesthouse that charges €75 a night with a nearby property that charges double or triple that rate.
Things can go wrong in the best of guesthouses, and the difference between an average place and a great one is how the innkeepers address the problem when something unexpected occurs.
Avoid hyperbole : Reviews that include only effusive praise or complete condemnation are rarely helpful or even credible.
Innkeeper responses : There are at least two sides to every story (often three!). The reviews posted on the Charming Guest Rooms website are taken seriously by innkeepers.
We reserve the right for innkeepers to respond to any review.
