Chateau La Roque

Overview
Near Avignon and Gordes in the Luberon, we welcome you in a luxury guest house, a medieval castle in Provence, in Vaucluse.
Château La Roque offers 5 rooms and suites of great comfort and natural air conditioning, all with incredible views over the valley.
In undertaking the restoration of this 11th-century Château, Chantal and Jean have followed in the footsteps of their illustrious predecessors, the Comtes de Toulouse and the Popes.
Since the year 2000, they have been passionately dedicated to revealing the Château’s incredible history and personal stories from past centuries – to inspire your dreams and enjoyment.
The past sits happily with a modern slant and comfort: discreet luxury for an enchanting visit.
Enjoy a calm stroll through the many terraced gardens, find a hidden spot to read, contemplate the magnificent sunsets, quench your thirst in the shade of the Mediterranean hackberry trees, with a backdrop of singing cicadas.
The heated pool with its dominating view, magnificent natural pool, and spa area niched in a grotto, offers the opportunity to lie out and relax on the terraces or in the olive groves. You will never tire of the view across the Rhône valley unfolding below.
At breakfast and dinner, we bring you all the flavours of the Provençal markets. Depending on the season: asparagus, strawberries, cherries, melons or truffles are just some of the special ingredients you will find in our dishes. Mealtimes are a real gastronomic journey and an opportunity to sample the best wines of the Rhône valley, the Ventoux and the Luberon, from a selection of over 100 different wines on our list.

SUGGESTIONS FOR REVIEWERS
Describe the key elements of the accommodations : decor, hospitality, value, housekeeping, setting, and/or meals. What were the highlights of your stay? A comfortable bed and elegant decor? The convenient location? The delicious breakfasts and afternoon snacks? The hospitality of the innkeepers? Extra amenities and/or advice for business or vacation travel? If in the area again, would you return? Recommend to friends?
Be both honest and fair : We feature various types of accommodation - some more luxurious than others ... Criteria of charm vary from person to person
We offer a wide selection of quality guesthouses for all tastes and budgets
It is not fair to compare a guesthouse that charges €75 a night with a nearby property that charges double or triple that rate.
Things can go wrong in the best of guesthouses, and the difference between an average place and a great one is how the innkeepers address the problem when something unexpected occurs.
Avoid hyperbole : Reviews that include only effusive praise or complete condemnation are rarely helpful or even credible.
Innkeeper responses : There are at least two sides to every story (often three!). The reviews posted on the Charming Guest Rooms website are taken seriously by innkeepers.
We reserve the right for innkeepers to respond to any review.
