The Château des Charmes is ideally located north of Lyon, five minutes away from the A6 motorway Paris-Lyon with unique view on the Beaujolais hills.
Built in 1850 in Burgundy stones, it is positioned south-west surrounded by extensive grounds (3 ha) with a wide impressive view on the Beaujolais.
Respecting the spirit of a family house, it is part of the former principality of Dombes with capital Trevoux. Beaujolais wine was the daily wine of monks in the Middle Age.

5 1Nous avons eu la chance de passer une nuit dans ce château - demeure d'exception du XVIII s., accueillis par des hôtes charmants, attentionnés aimant partagés leur histoire et leurs passions (les confitures faites maison étaient de plus excellentes, très parfumées : cassis, abricots, aux figues, fraises.., nous avons apprécié). Notre chambre (lit de très grande largeur doté d'une literie haute gamme jusqu'aux taies d'oreillers brodées aux initiales du château) de très belle capacité arrangée avec goût temoigne de l'authenticité des lieux par ses boiseries, hauteur de plafond avec rosace ainsi que l'ensemble des pièces du château, parquets de chêne, cheminées réhaussées de trumeaux du XVIII S... La salle de bains adjacente à la chambre allie une touche de modernité appréciable pour un bon moment de détente sous la douche . Nous avions une vue imprenable et exceptionnelle sur le beaujolais, du pur bonheur de liberté à perte de vue. Le parc du château permet de s'y promener tranquillement. Nous y reviendrons et nous recommandons cette demeure qui nous a fait vibrer grâce à la passion de ses hôtes Eric & Armelle BERTHOUD, ce fut court car notre week-end était orchestré par un baptême
