The Cortijo del Marqués is the perfect place to wind down and relax. Surrounded by olive groves with wide swept views of the surrounding mountain ranges, we have restored this property mixing old world charm with modern comforts.
There is a swimming pool for summer days and fireplaces for cool nights. The Cortijo del Marqués was built to cope with Andalusia’s climate with its stone walls, patios and fountains.
The hotel is situated 20 kilometres to the north of Granada, between the Sierra del Pozuelo and the Sierra Arana, offering beautiful views of both mountain ranges, as well as the Sierra Nevada in the distance.
It is an ideal base for a variety of excursions and activities. It is only 30 minutes to drive to Granada centre, 35 minutes to the Alhambra and less than one hour to the Sierra Nevada or the Costa Tropical. The hotel is also a perfect base for different outdoor activities, such as hiking, mountain biking and horse riding.
Our restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine with a focus on local recipes and seasonal produce, as well as a slight modern touch. We also recommend you have a look at our excellent wine list.
During the warm months, you can enjoy your drinks on our large terrace while taking the sun. The doors under the arches of the restaurant will be fully opened so that we can enjoy your meals in a semi-al fresco atmosphere. During the cooler months, our two lit fireplaces give meals an intimate and cosy ambiance, and you can enjoy your drinks on our comfortable Chesterfield sofas.

- The Hotel Cortijo del Marqués is located in the countryside of the municipality of Albolote, just north of Granada. To reach the hotel - even if you use a GPS! - make sure to take EXIT 108 of the A-44 and continue to the ROUNDABOUT on the west side of the highway. From there follow the sign for “Cortijo del Marqués” in northerly direction for the (only!) access road to the hotel. After 4 km you will reach the hotel.

In our restaurant every evening, our chef elaborates a 3-course dinner menu that is based on locally inspired recipies with a modern touch and made from fresh local produce. The set menu can be adapted for guests when necessary. Apart from top quality food, another important attraction of our restaurant is our outstanding wine list.
Sport & Hiking
Biking and Walking Tours : The Cortijo del Marqués is surrounded by beautiful countryside and there are a number of nice walking and cycling excursions to be made from here. On the way you will enjoy the sweeping views of the surrounding mountain ranges. We have high quality KTM mountain bikes for rental and the charge is 10 € per tour per bike.
Horse Riding
We work with a small riding stable in the village of Colomera (about 35 minutes from the hotel), which offers horse riding tours of 2 hours at the price of 35€/person. They have well trained horses and a guide available for the tours. Previous experience is not required - the stable caters to beginners as well as more advanced riders.
Mountain & Cocooning
The Sierra Nevada has a world famous skiing station. The “village” lies at an altitude of 2500 meters and from here lifts go up to an altitude of almost 3400 meters. Snow in winter is almost guaranteed and in summer, a couple of lifts stay open, so you can get fairly close to the best known peak La Veleta (3396 m).

5 4Beautiful place surrounded by olive groves, perfect to find rest, relax and explore the beautiful surroundings of Andalusia. A beautifully maintained, romantic place with exceptional rooms, designed with great care and love. The hosts made us feel very welcome and at home, the food was excellent - altogether a wonderful, memorable stay! Looking very much forward to visit this enchanted place again!
On cherchait de l’authentique , on l’a trouvé! La ferme andalouse typique en pleine campagne au milieu des oliviers . Calme, accueil , cuisine , cadre , il n’y a pas grand chose à redire sur cet établissement! Une perle à notre avis ! Des hôteliers accueillants et de bon conseils! Un lever du jour depuis la suite , splendide !! A refaire ! Allez y les yeux fermés ! Deux clients du sud ouest de la France ravis!
Nous avons passé quelques jours très romantiques et inoubliables ! Notre chambre le Grenier a été énorme, toute décorée avec beaucoup de goût. Le personnel est très attentif et souriant, les dîners exquis et la carte des vins spectaculaire, nous avons eu l'occasion de déguster les vins de Grenade ! Et le paysage vraiment merveilleux avec oliviers centenaires et des promenades au claire de la lune les soirs. Nous serons de retour !
Idéalement situé à quelques kilomètres de Grenade le cortijo est situé au milieu de champs d'oliviers . l'accueil des propriétaires est chaleureux ,le personnel souriant, efficace et discret. les chambres sont spacieuses , confortables et joliments décorées. la piscine est de petite taille mais bien integrée dans le décor , le jardin permet de s'isoler.Un endroit calme pour se ressourcer . la seule chose a améliorer serait la route d'accés au cortijo qui est un peu rustique . Nous y avons passé deux semaines merveilleuses de repos au bord de la piscine, visites de la région et petites soirées dans les bars a tapas de Grenade ou restaurants typiques des villages environnants.
