Florence and Nathalie, both fine art photographers, welcome you to their unique guest house, ideally located between Sarlat and Rocamadour, perfect for exploring the Périgord Noir and the Quercy region.

Hors-Série is the story of a life-changing adventure!

We were looking for a place that resonated with our aspirations, and it was love at first sight—both for this region and for this 19th-century building. We devoted a great deal of ourselves and our energy to restoring the property, giving it a new life while preserving its character. Old stone charm blends harmoniously with contemporary décor, art with nature, and every day we feel more connected to this special place.

Hors-Série combines the personality of a guest house with the quality standards of a boutique hotel. It is an exceptional and unusual place where guests can enjoy a truly different experience.

Welcome to our little one-hectare paradise, perched on the heights at the edge of the limestone plateau, offering magical views. Here, you are surrounded by nature and birdsong. Relax on one of the terraces overlooking the rolling hills and valleys, unwind beneath our magnificent lime tree, explore our private woodland, or discover the fascinating ecosystem of our large pond.

Our house and rooms have been designed to combine conviviality and freedom, art and nature, privacy and comfort, design and authenticity, tranquility and relaxation, activities and heritage.

Our two guest rooms each have a strong and distinctive personality inspired by our passions. The ETOSHA Suite recreates the atmosphere and charm of an African lodge, making you feel as though you are returning from a safari adventure. ESCALE, decorated in shades of white and grey with exposed stone walls and beams, reflects the spirit of the passionate globe-trotters that we are.

As photographers and art lovers, opening our own gallery was the realization of a long-held dream. We created a refined, mineral-inspired yet welcoming space that hosts exhibitions throughout the season.

As our guests, you will quite literally sleep “within” the gallery and enjoy privileged access to the artworks on display.

Breakfast is sacred – the perfect way to start the day!

Nathalie lovingly prepares breakfast each morning using local, seasonal products and many homemade specialties, including jams and cakes. Whether you prefer sweet or savory flavors, you will find plenty of delicious options to enjoy.

Breakfast is also a special moment for conversation. We are always delighted to share our favorite places, local tips, recommendations, and answer any questions you may have.

Our small heated swimming pool and its two terraces—designed to preserve everyone's peace and privacy—offer breathtaking views over the Dordogne Valley. Relax on the loungers and sofas or enjoy a swim in water heated to 28°C (82°F).

Or perhaps you would rather unwind beneath the shade of our splendid lime tree, stroll through our woodland, or observe the wildlife thriving around the pond.

Would you like to enjoy a romantic dinner in an enchanting setting? Nathalie is an excellent cook, so take advantage of it!

Two dining options are available and should be booked when making your reservation or at least 48 hours in advance:

• On Sunday and Monday evenings, enjoy our Hors-Série Dinner, served at your table either on the terrace with its stunning view or, if the weather is less cooperative, in the unique atmosphere of our art gallery.

• On Thursday and Friday evenings, order our Black Box, a gourmet vegetarian basket featuring a selection of local and homemade specialties to enjoy whenever you wish on your private terrace.

Hors-Série enjoys an ideal location for discovering one of France’s most beautiful regions. You will be staying in the legendary Périgord Noir while being only a stone’s throw from Quercy. Within a radius ranging from 10 minutes to less than one hour, you can explore remarkable sites such as Sarlat-la-Canéda, Lascaux, Rocamadour, La Roque-Gageac, Domme, Castelnaud, Les Eyzies, Collonges-la-Rouge, Autoire, the Padirac Chasm, the Gardens of Marqueyssac and Eyrignac, and many more.

More than twenty sites listed in the Michelin Green Guide await you, along with numerous lesser-known treasures of undeniable charm.
