Chateau de Villette

Overview
We are pleased you discovered our luxury chambre d’hotes B&B Château de Villette.
Château de Villette is a world we created for people to enjoy and share our passion for a holiday in a luxury castle in Burgundy, France.
During our travels we have always enjoyed special and luxury accomodation, such as boutique hotels, and learned to appreciate the following words: Live well - Laugh often - Love much.
It is with this spirit in mind that we would like you to experience your stay in Burgundy at our private Château.
Tranquillity peace and unspoilt nature.
The château lies in the visually stunning nature park of the Morvan hills.
The parkland and setting of the estate is said to be one of the earlier examples of the work of André le Notre, famous for his designs of Versailles and Chantilly.
Luxury at the highest levels.
Chateau de Villette is a private and extravagantly stylish private home, formerly the playground of the French aristocracy.
Recently re-decorated and renovated it has sumptuous rooms with fine bed-linen, private bathrooms, period furniture, elaborate drapery, luxury beds, light and panoramic views.
Good food and wine.
All the dishes we serve include local ingredients and are typical to the region.
Local haute cuisine with the finest wines from our private cellars can be enjoyed in the candle-lit formal dining room or on one of several outside terraces.
Unique wildlife habitat.
We have created a wildlife habitat unique in Burgundy with the help of a government subsidy.
The 500 hectare estate is a mass of delightful scenic contrasts – centuries old parkland, formal terraces, beautiful woods, panoramic views, crystal clear streams, ponds and hedged fields with wildlife flourishing everywhere.
Table d’hôte.
We are both passionate wine and food lovers and have settled in Burgundy for just that reason.
Coen sits on the national wine judging board and Catherine, a great cook in her own kitchen, can source the best of local produce.
Should you wish to have dinner, we require a 24 hour notice.
Cheese & Wine.
Every day of the week, we can offer a Cheese & Wine platter, with local cheeses and fine burgundian wines.
Cheese & Wine platters can be enjoyed inside or outside on one of the Chateau’s gardens or as a picnic in the park.

SUGGESTIONS FOR REVIEWERS
Describe the key elements of the accommodations : decor, hospitality, value, housekeeping, setting, and/or meals. What were the highlights of your stay? A comfortable bed and elegant decor? The convenient location? The delicious breakfasts and afternoon snacks? The hospitality of the innkeepers? Extra amenities and/or advice for business or vacation travel? If in the area again, would you return? Recommend to friends?
Be both honest and fair : We feature various types of accommodation - some more luxurious than others ... Criteria of charm vary from person to person
We offer a wide selection of quality guesthouses for all tastes and budgets
It is not fair to compare a guesthouse that charges €75 a night with a nearby property that charges double or triple that rate.
Things can go wrong in the best of guesthouses, and the difference between an average place and a great one is how the innkeepers address the problem when something unexpected occurs.
Avoid hyperbole : Reviews that include only effusive praise or complete condemnation are rarely helpful or even credible.
Innkeeper responses : There are at least two sides to every story (often three!). The reviews posted on the Charming Guest Rooms website are taken seriously by innkeepers.
We reserve the right for innkeepers to respond to any review.
