Antica Corte Pallavicina

Overview
A stay at the Antica Corte Pallavicina is an invitation to enjoy the tranquillity and to get in tune with the slow pace of nature: from the Mighty River than flows by in view of the towers of the main building, to the animals grazing freely in the fields, to the culatello resting in the old cellars, to the silence that reigns in the reception rooms and bedrooms of the country Relais.
It is a calm that can be clearly felt, the result of a host of activities carried out throughout the seasons, following the pace of nature.
The old fortified castle built by the Pallavicino family in 1320 is a place where love for good food and local products has always been a distinctive mark.
Here you can still learn how to make good fresh pasta and excellent “salumi” and you can get close to animals of ancient breed.
You can walk along a trail where 150 different species of fruit trees are grown or discover the beauty of the River Po banks, either on foot or by bicycle, and get as far as Busseto and Zibello.
On board M/S “Il Rigoletto” you can reach Cremona, Sabbioneta, Casalmaggiore or Colorno.
The complex is also a cultural haven where art exhibitions, musical events, conferences and historic commemorations are regularly held.
The Relais has six guest rooms available, all on the first floor that is served by a lift.
They have a simple elegance, and are furnished with all the comforts and with attention to detail, the modern style installed during the renovation works integrating pleasingly with the period furnishings and with the magnificent sixteenth century panelled ceilings.
The great windows provide pleasant glimpses of the meadows and the mighty river. Each room is equipped with a working fireplace, services and full size baths (standard and superior) the wash basins are the work of master craftsmen from the area as also are the poplar wood duck boards for the showers.
The soaps, which are also hand-made, are produced from an aromatised olive oil base with various wine essences. A basket of seasonal fruit and a mini-bar with water and home produced fruit juices are put at our guests’ disposal.
In the Restaurant by the river guests will be pampered by chef Massimo Spigaroli renowned cuisine.

SUGGESTIONS FOR REVIEWERS
Describe the key elements of the accommodations : decor, hospitality, value, housekeeping, setting, and/or meals. What were the highlights of your stay? A comfortable bed and elegant decor? The convenient location? The delicious breakfasts and afternoon snacks? The hospitality of the innkeepers? Extra amenities and/or advice for business or vacation travel? If in the area again, would you return? Recommend to friends?
Be both honest and fair : We feature various types of accommodation - some more luxurious than others ... Criteria of charm vary from person to person
We offer a wide selection of quality guesthouses for all tastes and budgets
It is not fair to compare a guesthouse that charges €75 a night with a nearby property that charges double or triple that rate.
Things can go wrong in the best of guesthouses, and the difference between an average place and a great one is how the innkeepers address the problem when something unexpected occurs.
Avoid hyperbole : Reviews that include only effusive praise or complete condemnation are rarely helpful or even credible.
Innkeeper responses : There are at least two sides to every story (often three!). The reviews posted on the Charming Guest Rooms website are taken seriously by innkeepers.
We reserve the right for innkeepers to respond to any review.
