Overview
The house, which once belonged to Alma Mahler, the composer's widow who lived there in the 1920's, lies next to a small canal just a stone's throw from the Church of the Frari, has now been turned into an exclusive but homely retreat.
This enchanting place in the hearth of Venice offers something unique to those visiting the city. Our guests will feel that they have really found a home away from home.
Oltre il giardino is a unique country-house in the centre of Venice, overlooking its delightful garden.
The garden, with its olive trees, magnolia and pomegranate, is an oasis of peace and tranquillity and it provides the possibility to relax amidst its green embrace.
During the warmer seasons, breakfast is served in the garden.
Our friendly and helpful staff is at your complete disposal for any type of reservation or suggestion, whether it is a restaurant, a theatre, an art exhibition or a site to visit.
The six rooms in this charming hotel all look out over green plants and trees. All are tastefully and individually furnished, with paintings and portraits from the family's personal collection and an eclectic mix of restored furniture and brightly coloured bedspreads.
Each room has its own personality and atmosphere, as the colours used range from vibrant turquoise to dark chocolate, from dove grey to palest ivory. Our guests will find warmth, simplicity, good taste and attention to detail.
All the rooms can be double or twin-bedded, and all except the Ivory and Grey rooms can accommodate a third person or a couple of children.

We offer a wide selection of quality guesthouses for all tastes and budgets
It is not fair to compare a guesthouse that charges €75 a night with a nearby property that charges double or triple that rate.
Things can go wrong in the best of guesthouses, and the difference between an average place and a great one is how the innkeepers address the problem when something unexpected occurs.
Avoid hyperbole : Reviews that include only effusive praise or complete condemnation are rarely helpful or even credible.
