Relais dell'Abbazia
Overview
Formerly a section of barn within the Benedictine complex close to San Zeno Abbey, the dwelling that host Il Relais dell’Abbazia is located in Verona’s historical quarter (the Arena is at just ten minutes away).
A cosy and quiet atmosphere welcomes guests, caused by thick walls and low ceilings reflecting a dimmed and relaxing light.
Françoise and Franco are the friendly and attentive owners who will quickly make you feel at home.
The house has on two floors. The ground floor hosts a large kitchen, where the breakfast buffet is prepared, a lounge and the family's private living space. The delightful outdoor garden can be directly accessed from these rooms. It is a green, cool and relaxing corner where breakfast is served in spring and summer.
The first floor is entirely dedicated to guests. There are 4 rooms, all of them different, each with a private bathroom, and they are separated from each other.
There is an internal staircase that leads directly to a secondary entrance, which guarantees maximum flexibility of movement to our guests.
All of our rooms have parquet, hammer-beamed roof and an internal fireplace. They are furnished with 19th-century country-style furniture and offer high-quality linen.
Bathrooms are fitted with heated towel rail, hair dryer plus an amenities kit.
Rooms are equipped with satellite TV and air-conditioning with individual controls.
Guests have a parlour for them, with a fireplace and a space for reading and fun.
Smokers can access a small outdoor balcony from which you can enjoy some views of the areas around.
Thanks to the house’s location, nearby Piazza dell Erbe (Square of Herbs) can be reach on foot, strolling along the Adige River and admiring the Castel Vecchio. You can also visit Juliet’s house, go shopping in the pedestrian area or go to the Arena to see the opera.
Due to its strategic and geographically location, Verona is a “hub”. From here you can visit other cities such as Milan, Bologna, Vicenza, Padua or Venice (the latter is about an hour by train) or travel along the Food & Wine Routes enjoying our region’s so many exciting experiences.

SUGGESTIONS FOR REVIEWERS
Describe the key elements of the accommodations : decor, hospitality, value, housekeeping, setting, and/or meals. What were the highlights of your stay? A comfortable bed and elegant decor? The convenient location? The delicious breakfasts and afternoon snacks? The hospitality of the innkeepers? Extra amenities and/or advice for business or vacation travel? If in the area again, would you return? Recommend to friends?
Be both honest and fair : We feature various types of accommodation - some more luxurious than others ... Criteria of charm vary from person to person
We offer a wide selection of quality guesthouses for all tastes and budgets
It is not fair to compare a guesthouse that charges €75 a night with a nearby property that charges double or triple that rate.
Things can go wrong in the best of guesthouses, and the difference between an average place and a great one is how the innkeepers address the problem when something unexpected occurs.
Avoid hyperbole : Reviews that include only effusive praise or complete condemnation are rarely helpful or even credible.
Innkeeper responses : There are at least two sides to every story (often three!). The reviews posted on the Charming Guest Rooms website are taken seriously by innkeepers.
We reserve the right for innkeepers to respond to any review.
