La Madelène was novelist Marie Cardinal’s vacation resort for 20 years.
She first enjoyed huge success with her 1975 novel The Words to Say It. La Madelène appears in several of her works. We wished to pay tribute to the author by dedicating a room
Le Prieuré La Madelène is built on safre, a yellowish soil whose traditional Provençal name, la malaussena, is where the name of our village comes from.
Named in reference to the Benedictine monks who established Le Prieuré La Madelène in this location, this room evokes peace, tranquility and serenity.
Named after the “Giant of Provence”, which is part of our everyday life. You can see it from certain places in the house.
You reach the split-level Ventoux bedroom via the vaulted living room, followed by a small, charming staircase.
